We travelled by train from Aberdeen to Inverness and stayed in The Kingswells House Hotel for a week. The first few hours were a chapter of accidents. Firstly, I broke the wardrobe door key in the lock and sent Elsie to reception to report it. I then knocked over a vase of flowers and again Elsie had to accept the blame and ask for cleaning help. However, she extracted revenge over the next three days! She decided she needed a new pair of walking shoes. We searched every shoe shop in Inverness (there were lots) and eventually ended up back in the first shop buying the very first pair she tried on. Served me right I suppose!
